My baby singing to me and helping me blow out my candles... the best present ever!

Being Goofy.

He is my world.

Pretending to be "Hulk" and "Thor" - Barbies it wasn't.. but I had fun.  Oh the things you learn to love when you have a son.

Kisses from him are the best thing in the entire world.

Welcome

So, I finally decided to start my very own mommy blog after reading the many different opinions and stories on other women's blogs. I am a mother to a 2 year old little boy.. (almost three!) and although this is only my first child, I feel that I have plenty of advice and stories to add to the mommy blog world. My active toddler definitely keeps me laughing and keeps things interesting. Everyday is a new adventure and I never know what to expect.. I absolutely live it.

I do not want to come off as if I know it all or that I do not have my own struggles as a woman and as a mother because that is 100% not the case. I just feel that I have learned so much about myself, children, love, and life in the past 3 years raising my son.. more than I could have ever imagined. Why not share that with others? Although I feel confident in my mothering abilities.. I still have so much to learn. I am continuing to learn and grow every minute of every day. I am amazed at how much children learn and absorb while growing up... and isn't that one of our many goals as mothers and/or fathers.. to educate our children? Not only about the difference between blue and green or what letter cat starts with.. but to educate them on the world and help them grow up to be happy, self-confident and self-reliant individuals who have compassion and empathy for others? Hence the title: Toddler in Training. Sure, the training part can reflect the sleep training stage we went through for weeks when transitioning him from our bed to his.. Or it can refer to the horrible rut of potty training that we are sitting in.. But stepping back and looking at the bigger picture.. It really is the process of shaping him into the best that he can be.. Learning responsibilities and mannerisms that he will carry with him into adulthood so that he can be the best at whatever God has written in the stars for him.

It is my purpose in this world to give him the best of me so that he can make the best of himself.
